Teton Canyon, Driggs, ID (Alta, WY but you drive through Driggs)

So, a little background for this first post...I've been cross country skiing since about the time I could walk but my beautiful wife Erin is a Cali girl and pretty new to the snow! I actually think this might put her in double digits for times on a pair of ski's!

Teal, our springer spaniel, just got the hair around her feet shaved because she was getting snow clods stuck in-between her hairy toes! After about 2 miles of awesome groomed trail we stopped for a quick snack and break, Teal thought her shaved feet needed to be off the snow and in my lap...

Teton Canyon is a gorgeous place to ski, hike, or just be outside and its free! The trail is flat and easy for beginners. I think I'll bring my kids here a bunch of times this winter to practice there kick and glide!

I've been here a few times and its not uncommon to see wildlife, deer, elk, moose, ect. Has a matter of fact right after Erin took the picture of Teal and I we saw a moose about 100 yards off the trail. He didn't seem to mind us to much and went about his business as though we didn't exist.
I would have taken a picture but my camera battery sucks! It dies real fast when the temperature drops below freezing. I think it was about 26° F when we did this trip but your pretty protected from wind in the canyon so it was calm and didn't seem to cold in my gortex layers.
Just a quick note for anyone trying this spot out, everybody brings their dog! So just keep that in mind if fido doesn't like friends.

Adventure on!
